The service
LIAN matches adult learners with approved conversation partners for short, task-based video practice. Partners are not certified teachers unless explicitly stated.
Accounts and conduct
Provide accurate account information. Do not harass others, exchange private contact details inside sessions, record a session without consent, or use LIAN for dating, solicitation, or illegal activity.
Sessions
Availability is on demand and not guaranteed. A session credit is used when a partner is successfully matched. Failed matches do not consume a credit.
Safety
LIAN may suspend accounts, review reports, and preserve limited session metadata where needed to investigate abuse.
Free beta credits
During the public beta, learner practice credits are provided free of charge, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred or sold. One credit is used after a successful match. LIAN may adjust future grants or introduce paid plans, but any price and applicable terms will be shown before a user chooses to pay.
Partner status
Conversation partners provide independent language-practice services under platform rules. Partner earnings, refundable deposits, payout timing, prohibited conduct, and any deductions must be shown before a partner accepts paid work.
Liability and governing terms
The final published version will identify the contracting entity, governing law, dispute process, mandatory consumer rights, and any legally permitted limitations of liability for the countries where LIAN is offered.
